The Apple of Our Eye

Our baby is officially the size of an apple which is very exciting. We were a poppy seed just a few months ago. No wonder I am sleeping so much!

No exciting posts from the weekend- I shopped with a friend and we attended a house warming party; however, my camera never left my purse. All the fun of Saturday left me sick on Sunday. I did the 12 hours of sleep with a 3 hour nap routine.

I am officially in my 2nd trimester, so I hope to get some energy back soon. I know Marcus would appreciate some help around the house :) My nausea seems to be all day this past week, so I am hoping for relief on that front as well. Today I will offically start an AM and PM Tums snack!

from Baby Center:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

FYI- Although I would love to know the sex of our baby this week, I don't think that will be happening. I do have an appointment this week, but it doesn't include a sonogram. That will come in mid-August.

I hope you get your energy back but I wouldn't count on it. Your body is working hard, really, really hard. Making another person is a huge undertaking...while Marcus may be cleaning the house, he isn't helping you develop another person's heart or liver or bones or eyes, I could go on. You are each doing what you can, so I wouldn't feel bad about the leaving the cleaning, making dinner, grocery shopping, getting up off the couch to hand you the remote, etc...to Marcus. I never got that burst of energy that people talk about...take all the naps you can, you need to try and store up for labor and other fun stuff. :) Can you feel the baby moving?? Did I miss that joyous blog? That is so amazing...

For naseua HEB has a thing called Cola syrup I found it in the area with the Tums and things... CK with your Dr. but should be natural enough to ease it...You pour a Tablespoon over ice and drink it..It worked for me..Not pg...just nausea...also soda crackers (saltines) should ease it some too..also frozen grapes..
THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!
