When Life Gives You Lemons...

... you are 14 weeks into your pregnancy!
I am officially out of the first trimester, but I have to say that I am still sleepy and am often nauseous at night. So, my symptoms, although mild compared to most, didn't leave me like I had hoped they would.
I don't see the doctor again until late next week, so no new developments on the medical front. I still have not gained any weight, but do enjoy eating. I still mainly crave fresh fruit and salads. I sent my new maternity pants to the alteration store to be hemmed, so I'll be wearing them very soon. I wore an old dress today and three people complimented me on my "maternity" dress, a sign that I must look pregnant. I'll take that over looking fat anyday!
I have gotten a lot of questions on gender and names. We will find out as soon as we can which is likely in mid-August when we return from Colorado. I have every intention of spending the day buying pink or blue things and registering! Our boy name is set- William Noble Jenkins. We would call him Noble, it is Marcus' Mom's maiden name. Now, don't go calling our creditors to try and hack into our finances! Girls names are all over the place- let me rephrase, I have lots of girl names running around and Marcus is still pretty set on Amelia "Millie" Grace. We'll see!
from Baby Center: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Amelia is a beautiful name!

Yea, for being out of the first trimester and onto the second one! Was your "morning sickness" usually in the evenings?
