This sweet girl is smiling because she knows an Easter egg hunt is coming or because she just disocvered Cheetos!
We attended our friends/church class' annual hunt Friday morning and met lots of new friends including this little boy who took a liking to Abby right away. He just walked up and hugged her. Then, things got weird as he spanked her and then we removed Abby from a headlock. It was strange. He found her among the 50 kids three times to headlock her. The third time I removed him off her and explained she was a baby and he needed to be softer with her. I don't think his Mom appreciated me talking to him. It was odd- he was just a rough boy!
The hunt is very well organized. Everyone brings 1 dozen eggs per child. While everyone is listening to the story of Easter some adults are hiding the eggs. Then, kids under the age of 5 get a few minutes head start. Once Abby discovered candy in her egg, she didn't have intention to move on to more eggs. This tootsie roll was a mess, but she had so much fun. After cleaning up tootsie roll mess, we changed clothes and went home for a LONG nap! Here is a picture of Abby sharing this chair with her friend Michael last year. Among all the "fun" things we did today, we also celebrate the love and sacrifice of our Lord that makes this day so much more important.
