So we started the vacation to Hawaii like everybody has to.....the plane ride. The plane ride started like every ride...hopping through Dallas. From this point, it was a scant 8 1/2 hours to the islands.
Now, because of Anna's 'extra carry on' (that would be Abby) we had decided to upgrade to first class. I was very convinced to do this, because I handle flights about as well as cats handle a drive in a car. I fidget, get on edge, and meow a lot. We figured, hey, if we are going on vacation, might as well start in the central time zone.
Um. First class is a different life style. I've never done it before, and you won't believe this, but the chairs are not only comfortable, but they are adjustable in a big way!
After spending a few minutes of learning what the buttons did on Anna's chair, I got comfortable in mine (Man, that was a learning experience...and one she was not fond of....)
We couldn't sleep right off, because we had to have our lasagna dinner, salad, and of course, dessert
Of course, anything more than a bag of peanuts and a plastic cup of coke, and I'm impressed....so I'm gawking the whole time like a goober. We landed at 4ish island time (5 hour difference, 9pm central) and got the bags and hit the room...
Oahu is....populated to say the least. We got a quaint room on the 27th floor. Man what a view.
So we went for a quick dinner at the local market, and of course, capped the night with ....shave ice.
Yeeeha....Vacation commenced!
